Saturday, May 2nd. At 8pm we will enter fairyland together.

The event is free ($5 suggested donation and cheap drinks!)
Feel free to dress for the occasion… wear your wings.

This is the Premiere Public performance of Fairytale Theater Experiment,
an open arts performance troupe of collaborative invention.

We hope to see you there!

The story:

We began with the idea of crafting a collective fairytale project.
We gathered a diverse group of artists interested in exploring the
core of fairytales and their subliminal affect on our lives.
We created a weekly workshop in which we collaborate to
create new fairytales.

We share memories, stories and visions.
Through writing and drawing, movement and voice explorations, we
develop a shared fairytale context. Then we create the vignettes; our
new fairytales. We divide into groups to brainstorm and stage instant
magical plays to perform for the other groups. We have chosen five of
them to share
with you this Saturday.

Please Note: the program for this evening is for adults only.
In our first explorations of fairytales we were drawn to start with an
exploration of a magical world that speaks more to adults. In this
performance we ask, "How do we reclaim the magic and re-frame
the themes to support progressive ideals?"

This is only the beginning. Look for more kid-friendly Fairytale
Theater Experiments this summer . . .
